Hi my name is Jose Argueta, and this is my blog about my experience at Hack the Hood. So far, this is my second day at hack the hood, and I been having a lot of fun since the first day, I got to meet some new people, and see some old ones that I knew since freshman year. Hack the hood is a program that is at the Ryse center, available to high school students that want to get paid for making websites for small business. How I found out about this program is by a friend of mine told me he got a chance to work here, but he couldn’t join because of family problems at his house, a week later, a staff (her name is peggy) at I.T.A called my name to tell me something important. She told me you want to make some money, and you know that after she said money, I was already ready to do whatever I had to do to make some money, she just told me that I had to sign some papers and bring my social security card, my birth document , and my I.D. After that, I waited for 1 Month until Tuesday, the 14th of July, I got a call from her saying that I got the job, but I had to start the day before because that was day one of the program. So i went to the Ryse center, and I was afraid to go because this was my first day at the Ryse center and my work place, but time has passed, I got more close to this place, I felt like myself. I meet with some of the staff and people that became my friends. I really enjoy being at the Ryse center, to me, it feels like my second home.
