Hack the Hood shot me in the face it impacted me so much, I really think Hack The Hood saved my summer because I had nothing going on before I started Hack The Hood. I was looking for a job and got stuck babysitting a lot. I barely had any time to hang out with friends. As soon as we started I was given more time to do more things such as play football. My family also trust me more because I’m gaining independence and maturing quite well. We learned more than designing websites such as photography, time management, project management, and even marketing and social media. Then there were the “co-workers” who were quite AMAZING! They were comforting, very social, and could never stop talking!
Donnell I found the process of making the app very strenuous and extremely fun I got a chance to work with the great people in my class. And although we did not win it was fun working on the app together. I think we would have been able to win if we were able to send our app to everyone. In all it was a very eye-opening experience.
Stephen My experience was very interesting. I enjoyed making an app on shoes. I thought that the idea that was brought up about shoes was a great idea. I feel like it was a success. I also really like the app. This opportunity showed how we were able to work together.
Zaul The process of making this app was very difficult, the whole process of learning about a new app on In Vision was very, very frustrating. I felt that we should have went at it in a different direction and I wished that we were able to share our app with everyone.
Tiffaney My experience making an app was fun although it was very difficult. It was fun working with my group and we all helped each other when help was needed. I feel that if we continue working on it a little more our app could be a successful working mobile app. This opportunity helped me see how working with others shouldn't be all about games .
Joshmahl I enjoyed working on this app and hope it progresses. Writing on this app was taken on by me, and I also helped draw some sketches. This experience was fun and was not too difficult. I enjoyed working on this project/app ShoeTo because I like comfortability and style. Lastly this project showed me that I would have to be more responsible for time spent on sections to even things out.
My full name is Zaul Alfredo Lopez , I’m from the bay, but was born and raised in Richmond, CA . I say I’m from the bay because I love the bay from Crockett to San Francisco. I tend to go to city to city just to refresh my memory from where I’m actually am, because if I just say I’m from Richmond, I don’t really think it’s true because I’m from the bay and nobody can say otherwise. I am really into playing sports, listening to music, playing video games, and even messing around with my nieces because they need a positive male role model, after their father being brutally murder. But I also grown to love modern technology because of all the opportunity I am given from my school, we have facility to use computers and learn how to web design.
Towards the end of school, my academy director, Ms.Peggy, explained to me to this program called Hack The Hood. At first, I was a bit hesitant about the program, but as the deadline crept up, (the next day the forms were given to me) I figured, “Hey, why not?”. As the day finally came, I couldn’t wait to get to my house and I entered the building, I saw a majority of the people in class were already my friends so I felt good about it and was relieved. The first day felt a little long, but luckily I had the good distraction which were my friends. So I hope that by the end I get a lot more friends, with more money and a new laptop.

My favorite app has to be snapchat , simply because nobody can criticizes what your posting , they can only observed or even screenshot, but there is no liking, no commenting just watch and observed. Than you can message each other as well, it can be text or pictures , from the females though I preferred them picture tho ;), Than my favorite video game is Battlefield Hardline, only because it’s not like the other previous versions its more , thug like the game has more to do in the city than a warfare scene , but the online is intense , the guns used can kill you in the matter of instant , to me I even have to warm up because i’m not focused enough i believe and , I actually feel like a sayain in Dragon ball Z every time i die i get better more tough. And the guns are awesome!
My favorite module was code switching which was module 7 , I enjoyed where we talked about how we act different around our different peers. Such as our family , we act proper and try our best to avoid using profanity. But when our peers are people from school, we act different, we use more profanity than a 50 Cent song and use disturbing references. Than we went to “micro aggression” where people act very racist or use stereotype references such as ; “oh, i thought your name was jose,” and “ oh , i thought you were speaking fluently for a latino” or even “ Hey , do you mind bringing me some pupusas”.

One of the first video I would wear is a scene from Scary Movie , where one of Wayan brothers
is playing a pothead, and is watching tv when he gets a call from “the killer” asking “what you
doing?” and “Are you alone “ and as soon as he says a guy in the background says “Wassup!”
then the killer gets confused , and shorty says “yo pick up the phone” and everybody at the
house says “wassup!” and the killer goes along with it , and I would most definitely wear this
video because there
