Going to Pandora was a great experience for me, since I’ve never been and I use Pandora a lot. Being able to be in Pandora's facility was a pleasure and I enjoyed my experience. Learning about the different people and their skills that are required to run the company was interesting. I liked the part when I got to judge a song to see if it could be accepted to Pandora, that was my favorite part of the whole field trip. Pandora had lots of interesting things to learn about like how you could submit your own songs and don’t need to have a big record deal.

On behalf of the Rich City Hackers from the Hack the Hood program at RYSE Youth Center, I want to thank Pandora for hosting my students on our visit, thank you. But don't take my word for it, here is a video the students wanted to share.
The first video I would project on the jacket that Isaias showed us would be a rock band that I listen to mostly everyday, their name is Gorillaz. The reason why I choose Gorillaz is because their music helps me calm down and I just love their music so much.
Here is a playlist of some of their best songs, that I love:
Gorillaz - Best Songs Compilation
In my honest opinion I have no favorite applications. I found Netflix to be common, most people like to use. I use it myself, but you never find that perfect movie that just blows you over. You’ll find a few that captures your interest, but it’s not one of those movies you’ll just remember in the morning. This is just my opinion. If you don’t know really know what Netflix is they started as an online website who offered all types of free movies for $9.99/month. This was a pretty good deal since they do have all types of movies old school, brand new, all types. It’s simple too use and everyone can learn the website. Another plus is that, they not only have movies but television series also, so yeah, Netflix can get poppin. Also, since technology is growing in cool ways you can now use Netflix on your phones, and if your T.V man they can send movies in the mail which is a peaceful Netflix too me. Yeah, with technology your Smart T.V’s can even go online as long you have Netflix downloaded. I wouldn't say this is the best app in the world but it can be useful to teenager’s and lover’s all over the world.
My favorite module was the Micro-Aggression module because it touched on some subjects that needed attention. It opened a lot of peoples eyes and changed the opinion of many people. For example, say someone is an African American and listens to rock music, people will try to judge that person, say they're white washed, or tell them to act Black. You can't act a color and I'm not clothes, I cant be washed. I am who I am, you can be that person to judge me if you want. It will not have any affect on how I act. You can try to change me but I will stay the same because I am unique.
My full name is Zaul Alfredo Lopez , I’m from the bay, but was born and raised in Richmond, CA . I say I’m from the bay because I love the bay from Crockett to San Francisco. I tend to go to city to city just to refresh my memory from where I’m actually am, because if I just say I’m from Richmond, I don’t really think it’s true because I’m from the bay and nobody can say otherwise. I am really into playing sports, listening to music, playing video games, and even messing around with my nieces because they need a positive male role model, after their father being brutally murder. But I also grown to love modern technology because of all the opportunity I am given from my school, we have facility to use computers and learn how to web design.
Towards the end of school, my academy director, Ms.Peggy, explained to me to this program called Hack The Hood. At first, I was a bit hesitant about the program, but as the deadline crept up, (the next day the forms were given to me) I figured, “Hey, why not?”. As the day finally came, I couldn’t wait to get to my house and I entered the building, I saw a majority of the people in class were already my friends so I felt good about it and was relieved. The first day felt a little long, but luckily I had the good distraction which were my friends. So I hope that by the end I get a lot more friends, with more money and a new laptop.

I'm Joshmahl Russell and I love to dance, write poetry, and play basketball. I've been dancing a few years and I enjoy the love I give out and I get back. I'm also into poetry, but its only when I take out time to choose to write and when I do, I would much rather know I'm in my zone. Thirdly, I like to play basketball. I love to to hoop with my brother and friends. Lastly my favorite basketball position would be point guard.
My name is Jose and today I’m going to review the game Kingdom Hearts that I enjoy playing. Kingdom Hearts is a RPG (role playing game) that is based on the Disney world, not the theme park, and mixed with another game called Final Fantasy.
Kingdom Hearts puts you in the story of a boy, named Sora, who lives on an island that is populated with children for some reason. After a while, he realizes something is wrong, then goes on a search party to find out why does he feel like something is wrong. The storyline is so difficult to explain, so I’ll just tell you the shorter and simple version. The island gets destroyed by the darkness that suddenly appear out of no where. Sora was chosen by the Keyblade and fights off the heartless, travels to another planet and meets up with some characters, like Goofy and Donald (and no, not Donald Trump), and meets one of his friends who betrayed him, and the story goes on from there. To me, I really love to play kingdom hearts, but the storyline is really difficult to understand at first, but the gameplay is smooth and clean, the graphic is so beautiful and amazing, the vocals are perfect for the characters, and you get to beat the crap out of creatures with a big ass keyblade! If you really enjoy RPG, then this game will be perfect for you.
Although this game looks like any little kid can play, well it is, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes features an original story crossing the entire Marvel Universe. Players take control of Iron Man, Spider Man, the Hulk, Captain America, Wolverine and many more Marvel characters as they unite to stop Loki and a host of other Marvel villains from assembling a super-weapon capable of destroying the world. The game takes you through a lot of challenges. I play this game with my little brother and we spend more than twenty minutes on every checkpoint trying to pass to the next checkpoint.

Hello people of the Internet! Have you ever wanted to wear a video!? Yes, yes a video! Ever wanted to put your favorite gif (not jif >.>) on a t-shirt!? Well now you can! Presenting picpocket’s latest innovation, wearable videos! Now don’t get me wrong, it sounds a little silly, but how badass would it be to have a t-shirt that has a freaking video playing on it as the print. For example, I am a huge WWE fan and lately I’ve seen t-shirts that have the print of Randy Orton doing his finishing move the RKO on a random person. Lately his move has become an huge internet meme! I would personally choose the best rko he has ever done and just have that sucker on repeat!
This is your Kaptain signing off.. Vast water are ahead of us.
Hello people of the Internet! Welcome to the place where me, Marc Lopez, will be ranting, whining, praising, and just overall being myself on here! As per usual, let me introduce myself. I grew up in the beautiful city known as San Francisco and I currently live in Richmond, California. I am a senior at John F. Kennedy high school (Class of 2016 what’s up!) here in Richmond. I play baseball and football for the school and I couldn’t be any happier about doing so.
Sports is what makes me… me! I grew up in family and culture that is completely all about baseball. Been watching and representing the San Francisco Giants for as long as I can remember, same goes for football. Every sunday I would here my dad yell at the TV for a blown call from the refs against the Forty-Niners. But whenever that happened when I was younger, I would sit in my little corner with a gamecube plugged into one of my parents TV just trying my best to beat Super Mario Sunshine. The gaming industry has been around me for as long as I can remember and I am loving every last minute of the industry.
Now I joined Hack the Hood via my academy’s director over at Kennedy high school. I was excited overall because earlier in the year it seemed like my summer was going to be a giant waste. At first I was completely unaware of what the program was going to be entirely! I was just told that it was going to be involving web design and that it was going to be paid. From what we have already learned here at the Hack the Hood program, I am expanding my knowledge of how to be a great web designer and hopefully get to show off these teachings in my next academy class at my school.
Together we fight these rough seas known as our lives. There’s a lot of things out there. But your Kaptain will be here to guide you through it.
I went to Pandora and it was pretty cool. They hooked up all the Hack the Hood students at Ryse some earphones and a notebook made by Pandora. It was a short visit for me and enjoyed it. Will I go again? Was it completely fun?
Follow my blog and I will tell you more about it.
Here's a nice video about someone from Pandora.
We are a group of students focused on web design and development. This blog will give you a peek into our creative nest located in Richmond, CA.
